Card trading is the fastest way to complete sets in Coin Master, especially for rare cards you've been missing for weeks. This guide covers how in-game trading works, where to find trading partners, and the etiquette that makes trades go smoothly.

How In-Game Card Trading Works

Coin Master has a built-in trading feature accessible through the in-game card album. To trade with a friend:

  1. Open your card album
  2. Find a card you have duplicates of
  3. Tap the card and select "Trade"
  4. Choose a friend from your list to send it to

The recipient can then send a card back in exchange — though the game doesn't enforce an equal trade. Honest exchanges happen through communication outside the app (Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.).

The Critical Limitation: Gold Cards

Gold cards cannot be traded at any time. The trade button for gold cards is locked and only becomes available during special Gold Card Trade Events that Moon Active announces in-game. These events are temporary and competitive — when one opens, players flood trading groups simultaneously.

For more on gold card strategy, see our Gold Cards Explained guide.

You Can Only Trade With Facebook Friends

The in-game trade system only works with players on your Coin Master friends list, which requires a Facebook connection. You cannot trade with strangers directly in-game.

This is why building an active Facebook friends list of Coin Master players is so important. See our Friends Guide for how to do this quickly.

Where to Find Trading Partners

Facebook Trading Groups

The primary community for Coin Master trading is Facebook. There are hundreds of large groups specifically for card trading — some with millions of members. Search for terms like:

  • "Coin Master Card Trading"
  • "Coin Master Trade Cards [your language]"
  • "Coin Master Gold Card Trade"

Join the largest active groups and post a clear Have/Need list. See our guide to the best trading groups for more detail.

Reddit

The r/CoinMaster subreddit has dedicated trading posts and threads. Reddit users tend to be more experienced and the trading norms are clearer.

Discord Servers

Discord communities for Coin Master often have organised trading channels with bots to manage Have/Need lists. These can be more efficient than Facebook groups for frequent traders.

How to Write a Good Trade Post

A good trade post gets responses. A bad one gets ignored. Include:

  • Village level — so others know which card pool you're trading from
  • Have list — cards you have duplicates of, with star rating and gold/regular status
  • Need list — exactly which cards you're looking for
  • Availability — when you're online to complete trades

Example: "Village 45. Have: [card A] (3★), [card B] gold. Need: [card C] (4★), [card D] gold. Active daily, DM to add."

Trading Safety

  • Send first when asked by an established trader — long-standing group members with verified trade history are generally trustworthy
  • Be cautious with new accounts — scammers sometimes receive a card and then unfriend without reciprocating
  • Use the group's pinned verification systems — many groups have verified trader lists or vouching systems
  • Screenshot trade agreements before sending anything valuable

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I trade with anyone or only friends?

Only Facebook friends in Coin Master. To trade with someone from a group, you need to add them on Facebook first, then they appear as a trade option in-game.

Is there a limit to how many cards I can trade per day?

Yes — Moon Active limits the number of cards you can trade per day to prevent abuse. The exact limit isn't always publicly documented and can change with updates, but most active traders report hitting limits after 5–10 trades per day.

Can I trade cards for coins or spins?

Not through the in-game system. Outside of the game, some players in groups informally exchange cards for other favors, but this is unofficial and carries risk.

What happens if someone doesn't trade back?

Unfortunately there's no in-game enforcement. If someone receives your card and doesn't reciprocate, report them to the group moderators. Established groups take scamming seriously and will ban repeat offenders.
